Counseling Program

Belief Statements:
  • All students have the right to be served by the school counseling program
  • Ongoing counselor competency training is a must for the school counselor
  • The school counseling program is managed by state certified professional school counselors
  • The School Counselor will focus on helping all students develop academically, personally, socially and emotionally
  • All students should have access to information about educational and occupational planning
  • Each student can be successful in school and life, and the school counselor will assist in helping make this happen
  • The Forest City School counseling program will follow the American School Counseling Association’s (ASCA) National Model​

The mission of the Forest City Community School Professional School Counseling Program is to provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program that addresses the academic, career, and personal/social development of every student in the school. With the collaborative effort of school personnel, families, and community resources, the school counseling program will provide every student opportunities to become lifelong learners.
